The attraction offers sightseeing opportunities as visitors can explore the area of the Sentosa Merlion and the whole Merlion structure. At the crown and mouth of the Merlion, which also provides a viewing space to explore, visitors can be free and easy to take in the sights from the Merlion structure itself.

The Sentosa Merlion is an opportunity to engage in an edutainment experience, catered to those who prefer to involve in fun-learning. Unlike many other attractions in Sentosa, the Sentosa Merlion is one of the few that unfolds the Singapore history through hands on experience (reading facts, feeling the structures, ringing the prosperity bell, bringing home the prosperity coin) and shows. The attraction will take visitors on a journey way back before the country was even founded. The learning experience offered will attract visitors who are looking into learning more about Singapore whilst travelling.

In general, the Merlion represents the Singapore’s landmark which signifies the nation’s icon. Tourists from all over the globe are willing to pay big bucks just to witness this majestic structure. Unveiled on 15 September 1972 (National Library Board Singapore, 2017) the Merlion takes visitors back to the history and significance of the Merlion.

a. Overall appeal of attraction Overall, the Singapore Cable Car have put in a commendable effort in representing Singapore as a tourist destination. At a reasonable rate, it gives visitors a privilege to view the city at a 360-degree angle without having to travel from location to location. Although the ride is 300 metres above sea level, the whole 10 minutes ride allows visitors to seat back, relax and enjoy before embarking on their next adventure. The Singapore Cable Car also serves as an exclusive transport for those who wants to travel from Mount Faber to Sentosa, without having to worry about the traffic! b. a. Overall appeal of the attraction Overall, the Sentosa Merlion has successfully captivated its visitors by displaying 3D artefacts that visitors can have a feel of. Upon reaching the attraction, a sense of anticipation can be felt in the air as the whole area was bathed in dim light. Visitors are brought on a journey as the whole attraction was meant to discover on the founding of Singapore and how the Merlion came about. The whole atmosphere in the Sentosa Merlion, along with old artefacts and visuals, definitely sparked curiosity which therefore keeps the visitors anticipated to uncover more. b. Well-presented areas/services/features During the moment of truth, the staff located at the entrance was fast and efficient as she managed to clear the crowd swiftly.
