Singapore Cable Car
a. Overall
appeal of attraction
Overall, the Singapore Cable Car have put in a commendable
effort in representing Singapore as a tourist destination. At a reasonable
rate, it gives visitors a privilege to view the city at a 360-degree angle without having to travel from location to location. Although the ride is 300 metres above
sea level, the whole 10 minutes ride allows visitors to seat back, relax and enjoy before embarking on their next adventure. The Singapore
Cable Car also serves as an exclusive transport for those who wants to travel
from Mount Faber to Sentosa, without having to worry about the traffic!
b. Well-presented areas/services and features
One of the areas that
stood out during our visit was the helpful staff from One Faber Group.
Without any hesitation, they were willing to help those lwho seemed ost in directions.
Upon reaching Mount Faber Station, we were lost as the
directions provided were not user-friendly. With no map or clear signages, we walked around to find our way to the cable car station. However, a staff
immediately came up to us as he could tell from our faces that we were
struggling to find our way. He asked where we were heading to and
provided us the directions soon after. The kind initiative instantly gave us the impression that the One Faber Group have trained their staff to be quick on
their feet to assist visitors in need. The good customer service was evident from the moment we stepped foot into the cable car till the end of our trip –
Their staff welcomed us with a smile and a warm embrace and I felt that this is
particularly important especially for those who have a fear of heights.
c. How engaging have
the attractions been, in relation to the visitors around you?
The Singapore Cable Car is the most laid
back and relaxed attraction among the other two. Just like other visitors, we
were engaged in snapping beautiful pictures of the views, with the sunset as our main
focus. It was evident that other visitors too, were enjoying taking in the
serenity of the sunset views. The snippets of conversations with some saying
that, “Singapore is a beautiful country
to live in” and “There are many
interesting attractions” can be heard as well. Just like all the other
visitors, we were in awe of the breath-taking views, efficiency of the service
staff and operations and cleanliness of the cable cars which left us with a
good impression of the tourism industry as a whole.
d. Excitements and
Disappointments
Excitements:
· Feeling of adrenaline rush
from the excitement of visiting and riding the Singapore Cable Car for the
first time.
· Sunset was at optimum view
and it was the first time for some of us watching the sunset 300 metres above sea level.
Disappointments:
· There were limited signages
and directions available when making our way to the cable car. Hence, it
affected our first impression of the attraction.
· Duration of the cable car journey from Mount Faber Line to
Sentosa Line was short. Time spent to and fro was only 5-10 minutes.
